Description
Antifoam I30 is a specialized defoaming additive based on silicone compounds, where a polydimethylsiloxane matrix incorporates hydrophobic additives and nonionic emulsifiers, providing highly efficient foam control and prevention in aqueous systems. Its mechanism of action is based on rapid migration to the air–liquid interface, where it reduces surface tension and promotes bubble coalescence, ensuring both immediate foam collapse at the surface and release of entrained air within the liquid medium.
This dual functionality is essential in industrial processes requiring operational continuity, consistent product quality, and reduced losses associated with foam formation. From a technical standpoint, the product is supplied as a viscous white liquid with a total solids content ranging from 27% to 34% at 100 °C, indicating a high concentration of active phase. Its viscosity, between 500 and 2,000 cP at 25 ± 2 °C, ensures a balance between ease of handling and dispersion stability in application systems.
The pH range of 4.0 to 7.0 provides compatibility with a wide variety of media, allowing incorporation into chemical, aqueous, and mildly acidic or neutral processes without compromising system stability. In terms of performance, testing under dynamic conditions shows outstanding foam knockdown and collapse efficiency, demonstrating strong responsiveness under high-turbulence environments. The recommended dosage range of 50 to 150 ppm allows optimized use depending on foam severity, ensuring maximum efficiency with controlled product consumption.
In terms of applications, Antifoam I30 covers a broad industrial spectrum, including the chemical industry, where it ensures stable reaction and mixing processes; the textile industry, preventing foam-related issues in dyeing and finishing; acid manufacturing, where it supports continuous and stable operation; industrial and bottle washing processes, preventing overflow and efficiency losses; the pulp and paper industry, improving stability during pulping, bleaching, and sheet formation stages; wastewater treatment, contributing to more effective clarification and filtration; and the oil and gas industry, where it controls foam in fluid separation and handling systems.
Thanks to these properties and its versatile design, Antifoam I30 is positioned as a high-value technical solution for industrial sectors seeking improved process efficiency, operational stability, and final product quality, combining ease of application, chemical compatibility, and long-lasting in-service performance.
